Genealogical Brick Wall
Oliver Barton Warren (1818 - 1861) and Dorcas Nesbitt (1815 - aft 1900)
Information I have:
- Oliver was born about 1818, in Vermont (son of Daniel Warren and Mary Unknown)
- Married Dorcas Nesbitt, who immigrated from Ireland about 18 May 1846
- They had four known children — Clarissa (1849 - 1852), John B. (1851 - 1852), Franklin Adams (1853 - 1935), and James George (1855 - 1883). Clarissa and John died in a cholera epidemic in 1852 and are buried in the Brockport Cemetery.
- Appeared in Sweden, Monroe, New York in the 1850 census.
- Appeared in Sweden, Monroe, New York in the 1860 census, next door to his sister, Mary (Warren) Wright.
- Oliver died 30 January 1861 in Monroe County, New York.
- Dorcas remarried twice after Oliver's death, to Eleazar Westcott in 1861 and Hiram Allen sometime after 1870.
Information I'm seeking:
- Information pertaining to Oliver's death and burial.
- Date and location of Oliver's marriage to Dorcas Nesbitt.
- More information on Dorcas. The 1870 census shows her and Franklin in Hamlin. In the 1900 census she is shown as a widow in Hamlin. It is possible that she may have moved to Delmont, Douglas, South Dakota, where her son Franklin lived, after 1900.
- Information on son James George Warren who went by George. I know almost nothing about him so any information would be helpful. I have found him in the 1860 census but not the 1870 or 1880 census enumerations. He may have been in the Monroe County Poorhouse at one time.
